WHAT'S NEW

Hot off the press is the latest Newsletter, which is currently winging its way to members. It's a special edition with families' experiences of Holland as well as lots of other stories and photos - we're sure you'll love it.

Invitations have now gone out to all members for our 2012 spring get-together and AGM. it's on 23/24 June and our venue this year is a 4-star hotel near Preston.

This year's Learning Disability Week will run from 18 - 24 June and focuses on a campaign to end learning disability hate crime.

The theme for this year's annual Carers' Week (18 - 24 July) is "In Sickness and In Health". Find out about Carers' Week and look for events near you on the Carers' Week website . You can also complete their survey to monitor the impact that social care cuts have had on those providing unpaid care.

Fundraising news. Member Sarah Tarrant tells us that not only has the RTS Support Group been included on the list of charities being supported this year by a part of Royal Bank of Scotland, but that her brother will be taking part in the Great North Run to raise more funds for us.
The latest to be added to the list of sponsored events is George Anderson's entry in the Tough Mudder at Drumlanrig Castle, Dumfries and Galloway. Looks like a real trial of endurance - take a look at what's involved. A huge thank you to all who take the time to help us in this way.

Member family the Prendergasts have won the Love My Railcard Actually competition for a short film about the benefits of a disabled persons railcard. It features Nancy Prendergast (RTS), star of stage and screen :-) Made by Dad, it's lovely - do have a look, you can see it here. Congrats to all the family.
