 USE YOUR VOTE

Very few people with a learning disability voted in the last general election in 2005. This could be because there is not much easy-read information to help people understand about elections and voting, although some people are trying to change this.

If you would like to find out about elections and how to vote, you might find these web sites helpful:

You can download Mencap's easy-read guide to voting at www.mencap.org.uk/getmyvote

On the web site www.promotethevote.co.uk, people with a learning disability tell you all about voting.

www.everyvotecounts.org.uk is an easy-read site, with stories and videos which give lots of information about politics and elections.
