The RTS Support Group has received a $10,000 (£6000-£7000) grant from Newman's Own Foundation for RTS research projects. John Peat, our chairman, said "It was a great night and, as you can see from the cheque, a very generous donation, which will help us to support research projects connected with this rare syndrome." The grant has been announced by Bob Forrester, president of Newman’s Own Foundation. Newman’s Own Foundation is a private, independent foundation established by Paul Newman that continues the commitment of Paul to donate all net profits and royalties earned from the sale of Newman’s Own products to charity. Since 1989, Paul Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation have donated over $7.5 million to various charities in the UK and Ireland.
